Veteran Wisconsin MMJ Activists ask “Is My Medicine Legal YET?” in hearing video
MADISON: The eight hour combined committee hearing on Wisconsin’s AB554/SB368, the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act (JRMMA) produced some amazing testimony from patients and supporters, as well as some ugly scenes by opponents.
The first patients heard from by committee members were two veteran Wisconsin medical cannabis patient activists, Jacki Rickert and Gary Storck. Rickert and Storck testified alongside JRMMA sponsors Sen. Jon Erpenbach (D-Waunakee) and Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Madison). The two first met at the State Capitol in September 1997, at the conclusion of Rickert’s 210-mile wheelchair Journey for Justice. Not long after, they joined forces under Jacki’s Is My Medicine Legal YET? banner. In the years since they have become well known for their decades of efforts trying to get medical cannabis legislation passed in the Badger State..
Below is the testimony of Jacki and Gary from the Dec. 15 hearing:
